Realtime Monitoring - Injection Moulding

A large multi-plant manufacturer of high-volume medical disposables maintained paper records of production processes. They had quality inconsistency due to delayed data collection and analysis. Cost of poor quality (CoPQ) was at 2% of turnover.

Data from injection moulding equipment connected to MES, enabled real time monitoring. They now use tablets to create information podiums at each work centre, and large screens at shopfloor to make key information visible to all employees. The insights and efficiencies translated into savings of up to $2.50 million annually.
